What is diamond color and how is it measured?
Diamond color refers to the assessment of the lack of color in a white diamond. In its natural state, most white diamonds exhibit a slight tint of yellow. The rarity and value of a white diamond increase the closer it is to being 'colorless.' Color grading involves evaluating each stone against a master set and assigning a letter grade from D (colorless) to Z (light yellow).
Color is deemed the second most important factor among the 4Cs (following cut) due to its significant impact on the stone's appearance. A grade lower in the alphabet results in a diamond appearing with a yellow tinge, rather than the brilliant white at the top of the alphabet.

What are colored diamonds?
Colored diamonds, distinct from the traditional white variety, exhibit hues such as yellow-orange, blue, green, pink, red, and black in their natural occurrence. These colored or fancy colored diamonds are exceptionally rare in nature, making them highly valuable and accompanied by a substantial price tag.
